The RIPT Server is the dropbox that is sent to the client. The RIPT Client is the machine the consultant uses to interact with the RIPT Server. The RIPT Relay proxies all communications. It can be in a dedicated lab environment or in the cloud.
For the current deployment configuration, the RIPT Server will create four (4) reverse SSH tunnels to the RIPT Relay upon boot. The RIPT Client can then connect to these tunnels for SSH, VNC, HTTP proxy, or SOCKS proxy purposes.
For the RIPT Server we’ve gone with a CompuLab MintBox Mini.
The MintBox Mini is small, has no moving parts, and is powerful enough for our needs…but primarily it’s cheap.
